ABSTRACT

The soul is the ingenuous child, the mind is the pastor and their evolution depends only upon his will. Armed with the magic sword of reason, its first duty is to ally itself with the soul and to strive, without the benefit of language, against the assaults and distresses of the instincts. Then, once peace is achieved, and when the flesh becomes their docile slave, the education of the soul by the mind must begin: a mysterious education through which the pupil inspires master who, little by little, shapes it. That the mind was able to chisel from the divine a statue impregnated with life and intelligence, then, even more complete would be the initiation into the mysteries of divinity. Whereas for the child stillborn in its crib heaven is a mother's caress, for the mindful sculptor of the soul this is a door opened wide towards God.
