ABSTRACT

This chapter describes the parents' testimonies about the progress of their children and what they thought of the research that was done. Love for music and the desire to do something for their child were the main reasons that some parents gave for joining the project. The inCanto project was presented during the childbirth course. The mothers and fathers of the children collaborated with each other in many ways, from attendance at the meetings to the musical entertainment at home, activities with videos, audio recordings and photographs. Memory, reading ability, learning skills, artistic sensitivity, character: the reports also make reference to collateral aspects of music. The musical experience did not only influence their verbal language. Most of the children went to nursery school and all of them went to kindergarten. The teachers noticed that these children reacted in a particular way to music and they always said this to the parents who eagerly told authors about it.
