ABSTRACT
The start of the 2000s decade is marked by mutterings about ERPII. This reflects a change in emphasis from inward focused applications to outward focused web-enabled applications. In recognition of this, Gartner Inc. have created the new term ERPII. Another Gartner innovation, ERPII is defined as:
a business strategy and a set of industry-domain-specific applications that build customer and shareholder value by enabling and optimising enterprise and interenterprise, collaborative operational and financial processes (Gartner Inc., 2000). 18
