ABSTRACT

This chapter discusses the Land Regulations of British North Borneo, 1894: Approved by the Court of Directors of the British North Borneo Company, on the 5th Day of June, 1894. Applications for Country lands should be made to the Court of Directors in London, or to the Governor, or to the Commissioner of Lands, or to the duly appointed Officers at out stations. The Governor shall grant an agreement for lease for the land so approved by him to the applicant, to be followed as soon as possible by the issue of a lease for 999 years. All Town and Suburban Lands shall be disposed of in leases for the term of 999 years, unless at the time of sale of any Lot or Lots, any shorter term of lease shall have been notified in the advertisements or conditions of sale with the approval of the Governor.
