ABSTRACT
Gerardo Diego's commitment to the recovery of a 'sub-genre', the mythological fable, evident in his Fabula de Equis y Zeda, has been acknowledged by Carlos Peinado Elliot, among others. Navarro Duran is convinced that the correspondences between the 'new' poem and the existing mythological fables of Fragmentos de Soto de Rojas, Los fragmented de Adonis, Los rayos de Faeton, as well as the clear imprint of Gongora's Soiedades, permit its attribution to the Granadan poet. The unpublished essay that accompanies Diego's transcription does not venture the attribution of the poem to Soto de Rojas. Navarro Duran's edition endeavours to respect Diego's transcription, examined for the first time alongside the autograph manuscript, with variants acknowledged in her notes. Navarro Duran approaches the 'new'.
