ABSTRACT

To attempt a discussion or a research into the origin of the Negro race is as eccentric as undertaking the science of navigation to discover the Creator of the sea. But the Negro student is driven into this species of mania. Before referring to that sacred record, which alone can teach mankind whence they came and tell them what they are, let us view the Negro in his fallen and corrupted states and learn from him what his origin is. In Northern Africa the history of the creation is thus related: When there was nothing in the world God created all beasts, creeping things and birds. Africa is the land of the negro at home and abroad. Both the Negro at home and the Negro abroad must respectively act there own part on the stage of life, combining their efforts to obtain a plaudit for the successful performance of the Negro drama.
