ABSTRACT
Eight copies of Bathe’s treatise are known to exist at present: two in the British Library, London (one incomplete; facsimile edition of the complete exemplar by Bernarr Rainbow); and one each at Sion College, the Bodleian Library of Oxford University, Cambridge University Library, the Dublin Public Library, the Houghton Library of Harvard University, and the William Andrews Clark Memorial Library of the University of California at Los Angeles. The copy text for the present edition is the facsimile edition of the complete British Library exemplar. The copies owned by the Cambridge University Library, Harvard University, and the University of California at Los Angeles were also consulted; no discrepancies between these copies were detected.
