ABSTRACT
It is well known that reinforced concrete is a composite material consisting of concrete and steel reinforcement. These two materials, bonded together due to their physicochemical and mechanical properties, have supplied one of the basic materials for the construction of building structural systems for the past 120 years. The behaviour of reinforced concrete is, therefore, quite well known under static loading.
