ABSTRACT
In this chapter, we will show different methods to access, measure, and monitor voltage and current in high voltage environments. We will start with a hybrid optoelectronic technique in which the voltage and current measurements are performed by electronic means and the optical fiber is used to connect the high voltage environment with the ground potential. Other techniques will use the LED as current sensor but without any other electronic component at high voltage potential. We will also show how to measure leakage currents in high voltage insulators.
