ABSTRACT
Tabacalera A. Fuente and Company is located in Santiago, DR. The local economy is based on several aspects, including agriculture—mostly tobacco, coffee, rice, cacao, and banana production. Most of the cigar manufacturers in the region are located in the province of Santiago. The Dominican Republic exports more than 90% of the tobacco it produces, both raw and manufactured in cigars of worldwide prestige. Tabacalera A. Fuente & Compania is a firm dedicated to the production of cigars of recognized quality. By 1965, many of Carlos Fuente Jr's competitors had to cease operations because of the impossibility of importing their raw material from Cuba. In 2001, the Fuente and Newman families, led by Carlito Fuente, created the Cigar Family Charitable Foundation (CFCF). The parallel planning process framework is driven by values and vision to support developing strategy, investment, and governance actions that exploit business opportunities and address the family's concerns.
