ABSTRACT

This chapter is an action research study about the implementation of the thinking skills pedagogy for teaching theoretical linguistics to Saudi university students. The students are specialized in the field of foreign languages (i.e. English Language major) at Taif University in Saudi Arabia. The chapter discusses the merits and challenges of implementing thinking skills pedagogies in the language classroom. Therefore, it is hoped that this chapter provides a research-based practical guide for linguistics instructors teaching theoretical linguistics to Middle Eastern university students who are specialized in English language.
