ABSTRACT

Generally, the teachers and professors of the universities engaged in Bologna process make assessment according to syllabuses and at their discretion. The frame for the assessment system should be created for the purpose to evaluate students’ skills and competence from different angles - in particular: written, oral, presentation, etc. Assessment enables students to demonstrate that they have fulfilled the objectives of their course and achieved the required standard. Assessment also helps students to reflect on their learning, and to recognize and enhance their achievements.

Therefore, we elaborated unified system, which is divided into 4 components per semester. Semester is subdivided into 3 exams on a five (five) week bases. I and III five (five) week bases exams are held by the subject teacher, who is provided 7 types of assessment prior to exams, at the beginning of the semester. II five (five) week bases exam and the final exams are held by Examination Centre.

The Assessment System:

on a five (five) week bases - 20 credits

on a five (five) week bases - 20 credits

on a five (five) week bases - 20 credits

Final Exam - 40 Credits

Above mentioned assessment and examination system provides us with full information regarding students’ learning, skills, and understanding; besides writing, oral and presentation skills. Taking into account all above mentioned at the end we have professional graduates who duly correspond with STCW Convention (Manila amendments) requirements.
