ABSTRACT

Human resourcefulness is the heart of all organising and is at the heart of the human resource dividend. Human resourcefulness (HR) is uniquely poised to produce good dividends because HR speaks to a form of moral capitalism rooted in the human aspect of organising. Human resource management (HRM) is a rather elusive or even ambiguous phrase that is used to describe a variety of concepts, managerial approaches and practices. Most HRM practitioners and managers operate with feet in all three camps: address the hard and the soft, pursue a strategic role of HRM and seek to link HRM to organisational performance. Responsible leadership is centred on understanding and aligning the purposes of the stakeholders. Human resourcefulness is the fulcrum to leverage the organisation’s good dividends. Managers benefit from increased confidence and assurance because resourcefulness expects that the organisational members are prepared for eventualities through the development of capacity alongside capability.
