Learning and discovery are core values and motivators for hackers. SuperHappyDevHouse's (SHDH) success bears this out. This is a key insight for any company interested in building an environment for hacking. The ultimate gift, for hackers, is the chance to learn something important and new. To create super happy hacker teams, give people the chance to hack and learn. It is how the company will bring the best hackers into the company and bring out the best in hacker teams. High performing hacker teams are rapid learning organizations. Given the right leadership, and the freedom to hack and learn in an open, culturally rich environment, these teams aim higher, learn faster, dispense with dead-end projects and execute on achievable goals more innovatively and effectively than any other kind of human organization.
