ABSTRACT

Dream groups can come about in a number of different ways. Natural groups can spring up among friends, members of a family, people at work, or even among strangers who find they share a common interest in dreams. Opening group membership to anyone who shows an interest takes some organizational effort. Gearing into an existing organization, such as a YMCA, church, or school helps a group and gives it a common meeting place. This is an especially good procedure if more than one workshop is planned. Any over-subscription can be used as the starting membership of the next group. Leadership skills and experience can result in more effective dream work, not because the leader becomes the authority on the dream but because he has learned to use the process to maximum advantage and is also aware of the limitations of the process.
