ABSTRACT
This chapter presents two applications of the manufacturing cost policy deployment (MCPD) system in two real manufacturing companies from two different industries, namely, the manufacturing and assembly industry and processing industry. For both applications, the following are addressed: the main actions, the main activities, and the main challenges for starting the MCPD implementation. The chapter also presents a case for implementing a pilot project for the MCPD system at AA-Plant and BB-Plant. AA-Plant is a multinational company operating in the automotive industry. BB-Plant is a multinational firm operating in the food industry. The chapter provides a detailed discussion on MCPD and methods design concept (MDC) implementation steps. The MDC implementation step includes the registration of all initial activities and analyzing input and output equipment conditions. The results of applying the MCPD system to the two companies, by continually targeting productivity improvements through the need to meet annual MCI goal and multiannual internal profit and profit targets, have been fully achieved.
