ABSTRACT

This chapter explores what might be meant by the venture of ‘biblical interpretation in Islamic context’, explains the organisation of the volume, suggests how the chapters can together offer signposts for future readings, and presents a reading of 2 Samuel 11 and 12 that builds on what has been learnt. At its heart is an analysis of the chapters which treats them as reading experiments and uses a ‘conversation, recognition, analogy’ conceptual framework for reading between texts and contexts.
