ABSTRACT
In his seventh lecture, Root considers the supernatural – the question of God – as ‘a hard test case’. The radical, after all, thinks this nothing more than superstition. But the supernatural cannot be demythologized, says Root. In the end, Root questions the wisdom of ‘trading the originals for translations’. The implications of this lecture are discussed in lecture eight.
