ABSTRACT

The Working Rule Agreement includes a pay structure with general, additional skilled and craft operatives. The Construction Apprenticeship Scheme (CAS) is aimed mainly at the school leavers entering the construction industry for the first time, but is open to all ages and operates throughout England and Wales. The scheme is well regarded by the industry in providing a measure of protection and commitment to apprenticeship programmes, as well as an important in getting financial support through the Grant Scheme. The Building and Allied Trades Joint Industrial Council (BATJIC), the partnership between the Federation of Master Builders (FMB) and the Transport and General Workers Union (TGWU), agreed new wage rates which became effective on 26 June 2017. The Authorized rates of wages agreed by the Joint Industry Board for the Plumbing and Mechanical Engineering Services Industry in the England and Wales.
