Extreme water sports are extreme sports that take place in water. Examples of activities/sports on water include surfing, bodyboarding, water skiing, wakeboarding, kite surfing, windsurfing, cave diving, paddle surfing, cliff jumping, scuba diving, whitewater rafting and skim boarding jet skiing. Risk is defined based on a number of important factors: skill, experience, zeal, enthusiasm and environment. Often times an experienced extreme sports person knows how to mitigate risks and handle difficult situations. Based on location, extreme sports can vary greatly. Each and every type of extreme sport is unique in its own way and often time the location makes it more challenging. Difficulty is often subjective and not always objective. Any type of sport that takes place in water could be defined as a water sport.
