ABSTRACT

The storyteller can strategically reveal the actions of any character at any time. In any story, the protagonist's Point of View (POV) is the primary point of view. Telling the story as any other character would be from a secondary POV. The primary POV tends to place the audience in the middle of the action. A widely used POV is that of the omniscient filmmaker. The filmmaker crafts a story by taking on an omniscient tour of characters and events, designed to intrigue and entertain the audience by showing the perfect piece of the story at the most impactful time. A much greater sense of objectivity is created when the protagonist's POV is limited. Secondary omniscient is even more unusual and typically occurs when the character is reflecting on her life or has some sort of special power that causes omniscience.
