The digital twenty-first century has thrown open wide the doors for all variety of Latinx creation, interpretation, and knowledge dissemination. The digital era has allowed for the possibility of satisfying the fast-growing US Latinx population with its complex and layered cultural tastes as well as interpretive and intellectual needs. Latinxs and digital media are fast emerging as a significant part of the digital humanities writ large—an area of scholarly study that has traditionally turned a blind eye to Latinxs and the ethnoracial margins generally. Access to digital spaces has allowed for different types of social in-group formations. More Latinxs are using digital tools and platforms to create and distribute all variety of cultural phenomena with Latinx content: from blogs, art, wikis, and podcasts to hypermedia fictions, performance art, webisode narratives, and much more.
