ABSTRACT

The education system in the United States presents significant challenges when it comes to students from Latinx communities. Such challenges arise in the form of language, cultural expectations, geographic region, increasing demographics, and the economics of education. Early English acquisition has proven to be a crucial yet difficult issue to resolve in Latinx education. The struggle for a superb education for Latinxs persists into the twenty-first century. The general trend is that the more resources and investment in Latinx student education, the more those Latinx students tended to achieve at a higher level, and it often paves the way to success in higher education. The history of Latinx education has been long and frustrating, with only the occasional breakthrough achieved after massive protests and activism. The need for improved funding and resources for Latinx students has led to the advent of organizations that are dedicated to the notable cause.
