ABSTRACT
Our proposed deduction model attributes a pattern of results to each subject. The pattern specifies the relationship between argument difficulties and between argument acceptances. There are no predictions about individual arguments per se. Thus, subjects can differ in their responses to arguments, even though each conforms to the pattern. This would be another reflection of the fact that superficial differences can obscure deeper similarities (Sections 1.3 and 13.1).
