ABSTRACT
Chapter 5 discusses and demonstrates in detail the various spatial activators for (urban) design compositions. These include established transformational activators such as dimensional change, additive and subtractive changes and hybrid methods associated with systems theory. This chapter encourages the reader to experiment and explore new ways of dealing with the complexity of the built form of human settlements. Exercises and examples are provided.
