ABSTRACT

The IEP, or Individualized Education Program, is perhaps the most important document in a child’s special education file. It helps to guide the delivery of special education services for children identified as qualifying for these services. It is individualized for each child, based on his needs, and is created using input from a variety of people. Parents often provide important feedback, and school personnel such as special and regular education teachers, teacher assistant, administrators, school psychologist, school counselor, speech-language pathologist, and occupational and physical therapists may each have important contributions to make regarding a child’s needs.
