ABSTRACT

The final chapter concentrates the co-evolution of institutional and pragmatic research on the structural issue of sustainable urban transition. The template of the city has dramatically changed since the late twentieth century (decentralizing the hierarchy of city in city-regional and polycentric settings). The challenges of place quality (related to ecological and social problems) have to be faced now in open and fragmentary urban spaces. Urban strategies to guide these processes of urban transition should be conducted and analyzed in the interaction of normative and purposive strategies.
