ABSTRACT
The Docklands Enterprise Zone Game focuses on the future development of the Isle of Dogs, in London's Docklands area (Fig. 3.1). It takes as its starting point the designation of the Isle of Dogs as an enterprise zone in the early 1980s, and the impact on development of the fiscal and other benefits thereby introduced are simulated on a round by round basis, with each round representing one year. New development is marked on the game board as it takes place (Fig. 3.2) following a series of planning and investment exchanges and negotiations between the main interest groups represented in the game.
