ABSTRACT
Where to begin? The natural, though not inevitable, place to start is with the first of the aspects or modes of mystery that I distinguished a few pages back. This is what I called the mystery of the world – the mystery of the world’s being as it is, of things figuring for us as they do. My aim is not to repeat or develop the argument for thinking that there is indeed mystery here, but to identify ways of experiencing and engaging with the natural world that promote a sense of, a feel for, this mystery.
