ABSTRACT

Repair cafés are part of a growing movement in civil society that advocates repair as a means of extending the life of consumer goods. This work explores the role of repair cafés and other community repair organisations as advocates for the increased reparability and durability of consumer products and examines the first two years of repair data collected at Farnham Repair Café, UK. The data and observations provide an indication of the value of such data as a means of informing and influencing product designers and developers.
