ABSTRACT

Writing the research report is for the purpose of sharing results with colleagues, other researchers and professionals. This means 'inviting people in' through interesting, creative, sometimes passionate writing. Sometimes we can also find ways to share with our participants. There is a traditional structure for a research report: abstract, introduction, literature review, methodology, results and discussion. This kind of academic writing should be mastered before considering a non-traditional form of reporting and sharing such as writing in a different format or even performance ethnography. The researcher must always reveal him or herself and not hide behind 'neutral' language.
