ABSTRACT
The epilogue tackles the question of how practitioners know they’re succeeding when they undertake the kind of engaged work around food systems that the book advocates. Is it enough just to participate in civic discussions about the past, present, and future of food? Or should public historians look for more consequential outcomes of their participation? Although the former is a crucial step, the epilogue makes an argument for the latter and suggests some ways of developing metrics for evaluating impact.
