ABSTRACT

This chapter presents the Plan Stage in which, depending on the relative Scope and Priority of the project. It describes a detailed "roadmap" for exploiting the opportunity for improvement (OFI) that was identified in the Align Stage and that is being addressed by this project. The chapter aims to determine the scope, quality, and schedule, budget/resource, and risk constraints for the project. The amount of time spent planning should be commensurate with the Scope and Priority of the project and the usefulness of the information developed by it. The chapter presents the Plan Stage, its purpose and its scalable framework, its Processes, and its Key Inputs, Key Steps, and Key Outputs for both the "Full" and "Lean" Approaches. It concludes by relating how its contents apply to one of the two Case Studies: Healthcare DCC.
