ABSTRACT

The high-speed development of mechatronic systems needs an innovative model-based system-engineering approach. With the new developments in the Leuven Measurement Society (LMS) Imagine. Lab platform, LMS answers the trend toward model-based system-engineering by making multiphysics subsystem and system models available as plant models to frontload control engineering based on Model-in-the-Loop, Software-in-the-Loop, and Hardware-in-the-Loop development approaches. Directed toward mechatronic system simulation, the LMS Imagine.Lab platform offers an open approach starting from functional requirements to physical modeling and simulation, through its following three components: Simcenter Amesim, LMS Imagine.Lab SysDM, and LMS Imagine.Lab System Synthesis. Simcenter Amesim simplifies multidomain integration, thanks to its easy-to-use simulation platform. LMS Imagine.Lab Noise, Vibration, and Harshness (NVH) gives users an in-depth understanding of the NVH powertrain system performance. The solution provides all the required information on the root causes of noise and vibration problems related to hydraulic dynamics, mechanical contacts, or slip control.
