ABSTRACT

People have used insects in a variety of other diverse ways. For example, fire beetles, which inhabit tropical and subtropical America, including parts of Texas and Florida, have two luminescent spots on their bodies, which is the best-known species the headlight elater. Insects have played a role in military operations for centuries. There are three variants of their use to do damage to the enemy. The first variant of use of insects as weapons is the oldest. The second variant—the purposeful distribution of agricultural pest insects. The third variant of using insects as weapons is well confirmed. Many varieties of torture by insects are known, distinguished by cruelty and refinement. There is little or no difference between the use of insects in rituals and their use in torture. Insects have always been popular motifs found in jewelry—necklaces and earrings. The common house fly larvae can be used to process not only feces but also other organic wastes.
