ABSTRACT
This chapter introduces the main functionalities and features of a collection of major and minor software tools, programs, and systems for processing and analyzing various hyperspectral datasets. It introduces in considering tools that are actively updated, available to access, and used as legacy systems, a collection of major and minor hyperspectral data analysis and processing software tools, programs, and systems. The chapter discusses the importance and necessity of developing software tools and systems specially for processing hyperspectral data. The software tools and systems span the realm of commercial, government, and academic developers. Some software tools and systems are built in large image and spatial data processing packages as an important component of the packages, and the others are designed and developed as a standalone toolbox/programs for mostly processing and analyzing hyperspectral data. Tetracorder is a set of software algorithms commanded through an expert system to identify materials based on their spectra.
