ABSTRACT

The process of implementing a successful behavior intervention plan (BIP) must begin with a successful analysis of the system in which the plan is to be run. The role of a principal is not always clear to those working in the school. On the whole, vice principals seem to be easier to describe. Their position and personalities tend to be much more straightforward. Vice principals are the workhorses of a school. School secretaries tend to follow a specific pattern of their own. School counselors are typically untrained in any formal methodology of counseling or behavior management. Teaching is a profession that has become obsessed with data-driven interventions and theories. Some school psychologists are housed at schools, some at district buildings. Some work only at one school, some at eight. Some do mainly assessment, some do therapy, and some plan academic intervention.
