ABSTRACT

One good way to identify the residual problems that are inherent in the processes is to identify an output of one of the primary processes such as delivery time and note the frequency of late deliveries. The problem-solving process is as follows: we start off with a symptom — the outward signs that something is wrong. The prioritisation matrix is a subjective technique but is very popular in problem solving. The team needs to estimate the impact of alternative remedies on the problem. Some remedies may solve more of the problem than others. Costs to implement a remedy should not exceed available resources. Usually, quality improvement lowers costs, but some initial investment may be necessary. Overcoming problems of fear of making public presentations and what happens after the project is completed including a wash-up session.
