ABSTRACT

This chapter discusses details of some relevant laws for descriptive purposes only and it must be pointed out that this is their sole purpose because law is a living organism. Legal definition of a defect in statute law and its relevance to the design, manufacture and distribution of goods and services. The Noise at Work Regulations 1989 imposes a duty on employers to reduce risk of damage to hearing of employees from exposure to noise. The regulations impose duties upon employers, self-employed persons, managers of mines and quarries and employees. The effect of the PPE at Work Regulations is to ensure that certain basic duties governing the provision and use of PPE apply to all situations where PPE is required. The regulations aim to reduce risks to people’s health and safety from lifting equipment provided for use at work.
