ABSTRACT

1The volume’s summary introduction informs the reader that the chapters in this volume offer new modes of narrative and insight into Russian discourses on international law which have often been shaped by western-based scholars for largely a western-based audience. Although in recent years a number of Russian-based academics have made inroads with contributions on Russian discourses in international law in major foreign journals and edited volumes, such contributions are only the tip of the iceberg. But given that there are different interpretations of Russian discourses on international law, the key to understanding such discourses is a narrative that explains some of the more intricate nuances of the systemic nature of international law discourses from leading scholars inside and outside of Russia.
