ABSTRACT

All textile materials, irrespective of their area of use consequently requiring cleaning and care. Professional carpet care and cleaning is required to maintain the carpets rather than regular vacuuming. In the house, the use of textiles extends far beyond that of apparel into carpets and rugs, curtains and upholstery material, bed linens and other specialty textiles as in blinds, shutters, awnings, blankets and leather goods. The care labels fixed to the rear of the curtains should be checked before laundering. The bed linens also need proper care for maintaining their aesthetics and other useful properties. The bed linen should always be cleaned by hand or machine washed than dry cleaned. Shutters should be dusted regularly and can be wiped down with a damp soft cloth. The care instructions should be followed and the genuineness of the leather has to be confirmed before any treatment.
