ABSTRACT
Benjamin R. Beede is Librarian Emeritus at Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey. Among his interests are guerrilla warfare, counterinsurgency, and semimilitary and paramilitary forces. He has edited or compiled a number of reference books, most of them related to military topics. His articles have appeared in several journals, including The Historian, Policy Studies Journal, Journal of Political and Military Sociology, and Signs: Journal of Women in Culture and Society.
