ABSTRACT
Positive peer cultures are developed in two basic ways: seeding and creating. In seeding, one transfers students from an ongoing group program into a newly created group. Here, youth with group experience help other youth learn how to operate effective groups. If the proper persons are selected, seeding new groups can be a very rapid and efficient way to start groups, but the students selected must be strong enough to fill this teaching role in a helpful way without putting down peers who do not yet know how to participate in a positive group process.
