ABSTRACT
Because of such experiences, some have come to view all institutional programs as ineffective, and any residential placement as undesirable. Here, we consider some of the inefficiencies frequently found in residential programs. Only as such difficulties are resolved will an institution be able to provide an effective treatment program.
