ABSTRACT

The examination of public policymaking in contemporary states that I carried out in Chapters 9 and 10 leads me to three major conclusions: (a) public policymaking in all countries is not as good as it could in fact be; (b) in developing states policymaking does not achieve satisfactory quality for many issues (in modem states this is the case only for certain specific issues); and (c) in modem states public policymaking will become less likely to achieve survival quality for some issues in the foreseeable future.
