ABSTRACT

Mack Henry Jones knew that he was building theory that had to be tested against the dominant thinking on the black experience while being able to explain black political activity in all its variances. In the pantheon of the Political Science discipline Jones resides as the premier theorist in the subfield of black Politics. Jones's essay, "The Political Thought of the New Black Conservatives: Analysis, Explanation, and Interpretation", is a primer for anyone wishing to understand the political thinking of the likes of Thomas Sowell, Walter Williams, and Supreme Court Associate Justice Clarence Thomas. During his career, Jones has been in search of a methodology that will bring precision to studying and explicating the black experience. All of Jones's Scope and Methods students know that he has perfected concepts that structured both his theory and methodology. Jones's political thought and methodology have made him the consummate political scientist and scholar-activist.
