ABSTRACT

From the psychological, cultural, and social standpoints Russia and the United States are at opposite poles. In so far as sociocultural and psychological interests or values are also vital values, they have certainly clashed. Therefore either one's analysis of the causes of the aforesaid unbroken peace between the two countries is unsound or else sociocultural values. Likewise two nations may disclose many psychological and sociocultural differences perfectly compatible with one another. Even if the American and Russian systems of psychological and sociocultural values were utterly diverse, this would not necessarily render them irreconcilable and therefore lead to war. The similarity to the expansion of the United States over the vast territory of America is obvious. The essential similarity between the countries compared is the fact that both are melting pots of diverse racial, ethnic, national, and cultural groups and peoples.
