ABSTRACT

The March 23, 2011, death of Elizabeth Taylor brought a tsunami of reminiscences of her beauty. With pleasure, she will haunt us for decades. “The Immortal” Elizabeth has recently been amazing me as I watched Turner Classic screenings of her films—from National Velvet to Cleopatra. These evoked my pleasure at watching her on Kennedy Center stages in Lillian Hellman’s The Little Foxes and Noel Coward’s Private Lives.
