ABSTRACT

The Primitive tribal family system is one in which the clan dominates the family. Nevertheless nationalism is not particularly impeded by the family system because the people over a territory, as Japan or China, have family systems so similar that they can intermarry. This family system is found in nearly all of Europe, including Russia, in the United States and Canada, in Australia and New Zealand. In the Western family system, family rule is joint public law and religion. The Primitive tribal systems will have to be systematized and then legalized, probably both at the same time. The space age found the world with some major types of family systems. Thus the space age calls for a convergence of the world's various family systems. In Africa, major center of the Primitive tribal family system, there is little extended law of the family of a civil nature, and what exists is a Western one imposed by colonial powers.
