ABSTRACT

Amanda was a fifteen-year-old teenager who posted a video on YouTube in which she presented a sequence of flash cards to tell of her experience of being blackmailed and bullied. She committed suicide on October 10, 2012. Amanda experienced anxiety and depression and had panic attacks. Her suicide received worldwide attention in the media. Ashley, an eighteen-year-old died by suicide, after sending 145 tweets in the twenty-four hours prior to her suicide. In these tweets, she alleged that she had been sexually abused from ages fourteen to seventeen by her father. Mitchell Heisman, aged thirty-five, shot himself in the head on the steps of Memorial Church on the campus of Harvard University at 11 am on September 18, 2010, in front of some twenty tourists. Before dying by suicide, Mitchell left a suicide note online that was a formatted book of 1,905 pages, entitled Suicide Note, and he e-mailed copies before he died to perhaps up to four hundred people.
